Auction vs. Realtor – How Should You Sell?

More and more individuals are choosing the auction method to buy or sell their real estate. When it comes time to sell, property owners are often faced with the difficult decision of how they should handle the sale. For many, a real estate agent or personally conducted sale seem like the best option. However, a growing number of homeowners are using auctions to facilitate their sale. In fact, the experts at Realtor.com note that auctions are a great way for buyers and sellers to exchange assets, stating, “In the past, only real estate investors and professionals acquire[d] properties through auctions, but that’s no longer the case.”
In our 40 years of experience, we have been fortunate enough to help thousands of individuals buy and sell their next piece of property through the auction method. While auctions may be a lesser-known way to sell real estate compared to a real estate agent, there are numerous benefits to selling your property at auction. Check out the chart below for some quick tips on selling your property at auction.

Mail Day: A Heartfelt Letter From Our Client

It can get busy in the auction world, but sometimes we are given the opportunity to slow down and remember why we got into the business in the first place. This week, we were lucky enough to receive a letter from one of our clients. After her parents’ passing, our client went through the difficult process of selling her family’s estate. We understand how emotionally trying this process can be. The Joe R. Pyle staff always tries to use our experience in selling estates to help our clients transition into this new stage of life. As our business grows and the weeks get longer, it’s always great to know that we can help those in our community.

Check out the heartfelt letter we received from our client below.

Jordan,

I was raised in a home with much love, Christian morals,

happy memories, and the lesson was ” just do what’s right.”

That’s what brings this letter to you and the staff at Joe Pyle Auction Co.

I will admit I was not the easiest person to deal with throughout this very stressful

process of dividing up and clearing out ALL of my parents’ possessions, in addition to

cleaning, trimming the bushes, weed eating, mowing, saying goodbye and letting go

of the home my parents built.

Standing there listening to numbers being bid, knowing another family

would be taking possession of what had always been ” Dad and Mommas home”

wasn’t easy.

BUT….

I sincerely want the employees of Joe Pyle Auction Co to know our family feels the auctioneer DID EVERYTHING to bring the highest bids. The men talking with bidders did an EXCELLENT job, and God answered several prayers that early evening.

Now that this is over and a little time has passed, I can sigh and know everyone had done all they could.

Many thanks to you all; prayers for many blessings to each of you.

A Big Week in Auctions!

This has been an exciting week for us at Joe R. Pyle! Holding a total of seven auctions this week, we had the opportunity to sell some beautiful and unique properties.

On Wednesday, September 12, we headed up to Morgantown, WV to sell the one of a kind Mermaid Penthouse. This penthouse encompasses 2 levels of unparalleled elegance. This Smart Home features imported Italian marble floors and custom finishes, 2 opulent masters with balconies and hot tubs, theater with full bar, private elevator, 360-degree views, sprawling terraces & many more extravagant features. Five licensed parking spaces and storage cage in private garage. Full access to the Marriott Pool & Fitness Center with discounts for the spa, Bourbon Prime and hotel rooms. Selling at $1.43 million, you may have missed you chance at this property, but be sure to take a peak at our past auctions to check out a virtual tour.

In addition to this luxurious penthouse, we were able to sell a 50’s inspired classic diner in St. Albans, WV. After serving many satisfied customers in its retro atmosphere, the Red Line Diner sold for $193,600. The contents of this diner were sold with the building. While we don’t exactly know what’s next for the diner, we were happy to sell a fully operational restaurant that can serve as a turn-key business opportunity for an auction goer.

While these auctions certainly kept us busy, we were still able to help our clients sell an array of personal property and real estate!

Make sure to check out our upcoming auctions page for more distinct and unique sales!
